This email is a notice to inform candidates that they have successfully completed the first stage of the application process and of the next steps such as another interview or a skills assessment.
These emails are usually sent as soon as you have feedback that the candidate is going to the next stage. This is important because you need to move fast. Your candidates may be applying to other jobs or in the stages of a job offer already.
Knowing how to inform successful interview candidates is simple and straightforward. Start your letter with a thank you. Thank the candidate for taking the time to interview with your company and express that you enjoyed getting to know them. After that, inform them that they are moving to the next stage of the application process.
If you are scheduling another interview, note this and ask for the candidate’s confirmation so you can arrange a schedule. If you require an assessment, explain that this is needed so you can gauge the candidate’s level of competency in some of the tasks that they will be doing frequently.
Here’s a sample letter to inform successful candidates that they will be proceeding to the next stage of the application process:

[For applicants who are required to take a skills test]
As a next step, we would like to know more about your skills that are relevant to the job with an assessment. This not only gives us an idea of how you think and work, but it also gives you the chance to understand what you’ll be doing on a regular basis.
